David McCarthy After buying a couple of Natalie's albums, I checked out her Facebook page ... and found she was appearing at Southampton Sofar.

I went along. Natalie sang without a mike (the other three acts didn't). Her voice was even more amazing live.

The other acts were good, but Natalie is head and shoulders above them.

Bought the rest of her releases there and then.

Favorite track: Immune To It.

Russell I came across Natalie Holmes by chance as her artwork caught my eye & now I'm here writing this review listening to her voice & melody; pondering how I can describe Holmes who projects passion, has a voice that seduces the listener & makes the listener fall in love with her, the vocals, the melody & harmonies work together so good that I can be compare the feeling to the listener that listening to Natalie is like making love to someone that they can open up to & let the emotions flow. Favorite track: Immune To It.

Calm Places 03:26
It's been a long time coming I'm far more loving than I was the other day I've had to let the dust build up. This wasn't how I pictured the change to happen I blamed everything Now I'm figuring it out It's been a long time coming It's been a long time coming Yeah I'm starting to notice the spaces I found the calm places Shut out the noise, and be with my soul Learning control of my body I never saw the poison ivy grow Pull up the roots and make it let go I thought that everything had to be done now Then an arrow shot me down Now I'm feeling my way round. Heaven looked strange I never knew I could appreciate what it means to die Hello angel in disguise You've been a long time coming You've been a long time coming I’m a slave to my body, But I keep it alive, If only that care was taken with my mind.

I’ve been grinding my gears for a while What are we like? If I could take my head off my shoulders I'd sit it right at the bottom of the stairs. Overthinking every little move. Don't know why I care. Ooooh, i’m better off, if my thoughts just keep their distance, Ooooh, you don’t know me but go on be persistent. Have you seen my mind? its always wandering ahead of where I'm stood But I think that's good I think that's good Have you seen my mouth? I only have to speak and words just run away. But that's ok, I'd rather not find them anyway I know we're born with a sense of humour, But cut it out cos I'm all grown up and this is child's play, If we're quiet enough then we might not wake it We've got the whole day and I wouldn't mind losing my way I wanna run away with you So let me be myself with you

Umbrella 03:26
The middle of nowhere seems empty at first But smile at the silence, things could be worse. Faint silhouette of the pylons I see. Longing for their electricity. It’s colder than death but I’ve got a hat That’s more than many so I’ll think of that I’d like to stop longing cos life is too short Warming my hands by scribbling thoughts I’ve got a roof to reside under A hood to hide under I’ve got a roof to reside under An umbrella to fly under Fixed a shelf on a diagonal line Forcing objects to fall as I climb Don’t overthink it’s already been thought You can hang an empty picture frame on the wall You're overthinking every thought You've got to smile remembering things could be so much worse And when the rain pours down, you swear at the sky, cursing the day, asking it why

Immune To It 03:44
My ego is low, Yeah I’ve been fine on my own, You had no right to pop your head round the door then go. When I saw your face, I instantly knew I was totally screwed, Buried it deep, Thinking I would get by just fine. Your eyes send me wild, Your touch left me in denial. (Now I’m) Stuck in the downpour And I want more But I'm not sure I'm gonna get it Theres an uproar but I’m quiet on the outside (outside) I got two minds And they're both right Only one fights a little harder. It’s tough love and I thought I was immune to it, But it turns out that I’m new to it. You’ve hit on a nerve, My vehicle’s starting to swerve. You got me drunk, Sent me over the limit, trying to win it, When I’ve got no ties with you. Your eyes send me wild, Your touch left me in denial. I thought I could adjust, Till your hands held me close that once. I was fine from the inside out, from the inside out You came and shut my system down I realise you need your space But you’ve invaded mine, next to every curve and every line, all I can think of is do you know I’m
