about

You know when you become infatuated by a person for no apparent reason, and you know they just aren’t worth it? Yeah. This song is summing up that mental battle between knowing something isn’t good for you but letting it take over your every thought anyway. This was inspired by a situation I found myself in shortly after I got better from my vocal problems, and I was in a really good place and feeling totally happy in and by myself. Then bam, nothing like a ridiculous unreciprocated crush to start you questioning everything about yourself and making you feel like nothing. Grrr mind games. Top tip: Just be straight with people about your feelings and save the other person the torment!

lyrics

My ego is low,
Yeah I’ve been fine on my own,
You had no right to pop your head round the door then go.
When I saw your face,
I instantly knew I was totally screwed,
Buried it deep,
Thinking I would get by just fine.

Your eyes send me wild,
Your touch left me in denial.

(Now I’m)
Stuck in the downpour
And I want more
But I'm not sure I'm gonna get it
Theres an uproar but I’m quiet on the outside (outside)
I got two minds
And they're both right
Only one fights a little harder.
It’s tough love and I thought I was immune to it,
But it turns out that I’m new to it.

You’ve hit on a nerve,
My vehicle’s starting to swerve.
You got me drunk,
Sent me over the limit, trying to win it,
When I’ve got no ties with you.

Your eyes send me wild,
Your touch left me in denial.
I thought I could adjust,
Till your hands held me close that once.

I was fine from the inside out, from the inside out
You came and shut my system down

I realise you need your space
But you’ve invaded mine, next to every curve and every line, all I can think of is do you know I’m
