lyrics
I think of yesterday,
When all of this was gone and gone away,
I breathe an icy breath,
Cos boy it's getting cold as death.
Try to put on a smile,
But inside I could run a mile,
You think it's a joke,
But I know now.
This ain't sticks and stones now,
Your words cut and burn now
This ain't sticks and stones now,
My shell is cracked, front to back.
How is this desert plain,
Forming icicles without a drop of rain?
I'm out there on my own,
My head's still sore from your sharp tone.
You threw a pebble and,
It turned into a boulder as it crashed,
You think it's a joke but I know now.
This ain't sticks and stones now,
Your words cut and burn now
This ain't sticks and stones now,
My shell is cracked, front to back.
Come on look up and say it to my face,
I had to hear it from a secret place,
Cos you, think its a joke, but you're hurting me.
I have loved Kate for so long. Her words and her voice just make me feel all sorts of good things. I've loved everything she's put out from YouTube covers and Replaced back when I was in high school to Meadowlark and the occassional solo work now. She is a blessing on my life. hbruce134
Four super songs from Sarah; all beautifully structured, sung and produced. There's a real brooding intensity to the messages built into these tracks – feelings that aren't quickly forgotten. Michael Reilly
